Free to a good home: Portable Canon Printer BJC-80
From: Christopher Derry
Valid from: Thursday 20 September 2018 to Thursday 18 October 2018
I used to carry this printer with me on overseas trips, where it was most useful in being able to produce a very high quality A4 black and white or colour print.
It is only 30 x 15 x 5cm and about the weight of a small lap top; certainly more convenient than anything I have seen recently
Unfortunately, it is parallel-port driven and this was phased out on new computers. It still prints test pages perfectly from the printer but the (cheap) USB/Parallel port link I bought for it didn't work.
It just seems to me too good to become ewaste, so if anyone (or their teenage child) likes tinkering with old IT equipment, they are most welcome to have the printer, disk, leads, inks, heads, manuals, etc, free of charge.
You can easily top-up the inks, which is probably why the manufacturer phased it out.
They still sell the printers and spares on ebay as "vintage" (cheeky lot), so someone must be able to get them working!
