Register now: Bankstown ECA/MCA Advisory Group Networking Event - Monday 15 October

From: Marina Girgis

Valid from: Friday 21 September 2018 to Monday 8 October 2018

Developing an academic career on your own terms can sometimes be a high risk endeavour, particularly in the early years.

We have all heard the prescription for a ‘successful’ academic career; the ‘right’ publication outlets, the ‘right’ funding bodies, the ‘right’ projects, the ‘right’ speed of professional development.

But, what happens when the prescription for success and your true self collide?

What if… you do not fit the box?

You're invited to join us at the Bankstown ECA/MCA Advisory Group Networking Event, from 12.00 - 2.00pm on Monday 15 October, in Building 23 (ground floor, Room 41), for discussions on how you can develop a career that is true to your own professional identity and interests, but does not exclude you from ‘playing the game’.

Join an open discussion with Professor James Arvanitakis (PVC Research and Graduate Studies), Professor Jonathon Allen (Head of The Academy) and Manijah Hakim (REDI Research) and chat with the Bankstown ECA/MCA Advisory Group members about academic promotion, grant writing process, engaging with industry partners, using social media to promote your research and achievements and much more!

A networking lunch is provided.
