The HumanNature Lecture Series returns to the Australian Museum in 2019 featuring leading international and Australian scholars in the Environmental Humanities.

The forest is being emptied – of the trees and other plants that comprise it, the animals that enliven it, and of the myths and meanings that animate it. Macarena Gómez-Barris explores militarisation, resource extraction and other corporate and state projects of expanding colonialism upon Indigenous territories in the Americas.
