The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education, in partnership with the Student Experience Office, invites you to gather for the purpose of being Welcomed to Country and the acknowledgement of the beginning of a new academic year.
Smoking ceremony is an ancient custom amongst First Nations people of Australia and is believed to offer cleansing of the past for a better future and promotes the well-being of Aboriginal peoples and guests on Country.
Parramatta South campus stands on Darug land with the Burramattagal people being the traditional custodians. By paying our respects to the traditional custodians of this land and in the
spirit of unity and new beginnings, it welcomes both students and staff to the campus.
