Staff Wellbeing Cafes - Q1 2023

From: Ingrid Dernee

Valid from: Wednesday 1 March 2023 to Thursday 30 March 2023

Welcome to Wellbeing in 2023. We invite Western Staff to join us to connect with others in meaningful ways, share, create, laugh, and recalibrate at the beginning of 2023, as part of our Quarter 1, Staff Wellbeing Café Series.

If you are already thinking, “I can’t stop to take a break”, maybe these sessions are for you. We are running two separate Wellbeing Cafes during March, both free, and open to current Western Sydney University staff. Please see details of events, and how to register below:

Staff Wellbeing Café – Watercolour Painting
Thursday 16 March 1 pm – 2 pm, Parramatta South campus
Join us as we explore watercolour painting. In this session, you will create a watercolour artwork, with guidance, or if you are a free spirit, you can just go for it. Our focus is on art making as a way to wellbeing, so no experience is necessary. All materials are provided. Bring along your open heart and creative energy.

Staff Wellbeing Café – Tea Making and Zen Practice
Thursday 23 March 1 pm – 2 pm, Online
This session will be oriented around readings from the Book of Tea. The book is a lovely immersion in Japanese Zen culture and the important role tea has played in that culture. We encourage you to make yourself a cup, or a pot, of tea for the occasion (not compulsory). We hope it will be a quiet hour of being read to, of silent periods, of reflection, and of conversation. We will leave the tea-making entirely up to you, either before or after the event.
