Screening and Q+A: Whatever Happened to Green Valley?

Join Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) and the School of Humanities and Communication Arts on Saturday 9 July at 2pm for a screening of the National Film and Sound Archive's remastered version of Peter Weir’s 1973 documentary, Whatever Happened to Green Valley? Held on-site at Casula Powerhouse, the screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Associate Professor Rae Dufty-Jones and Associate Professor Louise Crabtree. They'll be joined by CPAC director Craig Donarski and Associate Professor Deena Ridenour (University of Sydney) to discuss issues of urban and suburban design and the future of development in Western (particularly South Western) Sydney.
The event is occurring as part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Liverpool becoming a municipality, looking at the past, present and future of the LGA. Green Valley sits squarely within our borders, but now surrounded by newer suburbs that are in development with the new airport and much-vaunted surrounding aerotropolis.
