HARMONY DAY - 21st March

From: Kimberley Pangilinan

Valid from: Friday 17 March 2023 to Sunday 26 March 2023

Tuesday 21 March marks Harmony Day. Harmony Day offers a great opportunity to celebrate cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity that makes up our community by sharing those unique features of our identity. Harmony Day also reminds us to acknowledge the barriers that persist for culturally diverse populations and the importance of challenging racial prejudice and discrimination.

Have your team involved by hosting a morning tea and encouraging your co-workers to bring in a dish to represent their cultural background - or otherwise anything that you can all enjoy!

The Convenors of the We-CALD Network will be hosting morning tea on Tuesday 21st March 10am at their campuses:

* Sowbhagya Micheal – Campbelltown, Building 30 Hub
* Kimberley Ann Pangilinan – Hawkesbury, K28

Please bring food from your cultural background to share – speak about what that dish means for you and any cultural traditions that you celebrate.

We encourage you to share your stories of Harmony Day and your team’s morning tea event by posting on Yammer or sending them to equityanddiversity@westernsydney.edu.au.

You will also see an orange presence across our digital screens and in our libraries. For more information on our diverse university community and the We-CALD Network, please see our website - https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/equity-and-diversity/cultural_diversity/culturally_and_linguistically_diverse_cald

Harmony Day is part of Harmony Week, celebrated from 20 – 26 March.
