Workshops: Global Accessibility Awareness Day
From: Stephanie Lynch
Valid from: Thursday 9 May 2024 to Thursday 16 May 2024
Break down digital barriers and make content accessible for all!
In true Digital Learning (Learning Futures) and Assistive Technology (ITDS) style, we're turning Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) into a week-long festivity!
Ensuring your subject content is digitally accessible enhances readability for all students, aligning with the inclusive principles of the New Accord Student Support Policy. Crafting inclusive course material improves your subject's overall quality and promotes a supportive learning environment for diverse student cohorts.
Join Digital Learning (Learning Futures) and Assistive Technology (ITDS) for a week filled with a series of workshops focused on demonstrating how you can ensure your content is digitally accessible to create a supportive learning environment.
The sessions will introduce you to why digital accessibility is important, how you can use Blackboard ALLY, guide you through creating accessible Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents and outline how students can access Assistive Technology at Western.
