Fundraiser - Rare Cancer Australia

From: Liz Norsa

Valid from: Thursday 11 April 2019 to Wednesday 8 May 2019

Please consider donating to help Canberra woman Elizabeth Pickworth, as she battles cancer of the Thymus gland, a rare cancer that affects less than one person in every 1.5 million.

Rare Cancers Australia Ltd is a charity whose purpose is to improve awareness, support and treatment of Australians with rare and less common cancers.

They have opened a fundraising page for Elizabeth, which is now taking donations.

Elizabeth - a 31-year-old mother of one - was diagnosed with advanced cancer in the first week of December 2018. Please take a few moments to follow the link below, to discover more about her journey with chemotherapy, as she heads toward a Clamshell Thoracotomy (a major surgery where doctors not only crack open the sternum, but also cut along the chest to the side and possibly up the neck) in mid-April.

Despite the news and extensive treatment required, Elizabeth continues to work to support her family and maintains a positive attitude. As she says, “Half the battle is psychological, so if I win that side of things, everything else is not as hard.”
